I want to practice pixeling, and I need something to look forward to doing when the storm passes next week. I don't know if anyone's interested. I mean they're just like little icons and I'm not good at it yet, but if you like want an avatar for anything tell me and maybe I can make one! If anyone wants one, I mean.

They look like this:

-------
Hello! I wasn't really expecting people to want my icons so I'm happy! I'd love to make everyone icons but unfortunately I'm not sure how many I can make. : ( So I have to give people I already know first dibs, and maybe I'll make icons for strangers afterwards? Does that seem fair? XD

If you ever use the icon, please credit if you can! I mean I'm not going to run after you or anything but I'd appreciate it.
Filled out a bunch of forms. I didn't think anyone would actually read them, so I just put down joke answers. So now half the  apartment calls me Princess Consuela Banana Hammock.
All prices are USD and are tentative. They may decrease or increase depending on the subject matter. If you are interested, please note me.

Update: The dogs are okay!
After the news picked up on it and word really got out, the university realized that maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all.

Right now, they have taken down cement and are NOT going to seal them under there anymore.

Instead, they are going to ask for volunteers from the veterinary school to spay and neuter the dogs and asking people to adopt them. (I doubt that they'll be able to find families willing to adopt the stray dogs though, but spay/neuter is definitely a MUCH better solution than sealing them under a building with cement.)

I am not sure why they did not do this in the first place. The veterinary school is literally right next to all this...

Whoever called or emailed, we thank you SO much. No, seriously, this was ALL due to public outrage both inside and outside of Bangkok, and if I know how the university works, YOU AND YOUR MESSAGES HELPED.

More than just this situation alone, I think that this incident and people's response will make them more cautious when dealing with animal issues in the future, now that they know that they CANNOT get away with just blatant- I can't even find a word for it! I mean, they can't just shush it up, put up a fence, and expect people to not be angry.
Guys, please hurry.

Chulalongkorn University just sealed in about 30 dogs and puppies under a building with cement. I believe that this is their way of killing the stray dogs.

There are stray dogs all over Thailand. Does this mean that it's okay to seal them in under a building and leave them to die?! I don't think so.

My father just called them. They denied it, despite the fact that there are people RIGHT OUTSIDE THE BUILDING taking videos of the dogs through cracks. When he said that the news had reached America, they massed panicked- I think that this means that they'll get the dogs out? I don't know.

Here is a video of the dogs underneath the building. [link] I posted an English translation (comments by GuoBia).

As you can see, there are DOGS under that building, behind the cement barrier.

Want to help? It's really easy and won't hurt you, won't cost you, etc!

Thing is, there's ONE FORCE that can get a Thai university to do something- people from more powerful countries calling in.

Email int.off@chula.ac.th  and say "I'm from America/Australia/Finland/etc. and I heard that you, Chulalongkorn University, just sealed in ~30 live dogs and puppies under a building with cement and are planning on leaving them there to die. I hope you will get them out and not kill them."

The main thing is that they see America (or your country), Dog, and Chulalongkorn University in the same email. They'll know what you're talking about.

Please, it's a race against the clock at this point.

$5 chibis: all proceeds (all five dollars) go directly to the Thai Red Cross for relief for flood victims.

Interested? Note me with a reference image and I'll send you the paypal!

--------------------

Thank you so much ~winnieisgone and *rheepyr!! I've sent off your donations to the Thai Red Cross.

500 deaths so far- let's hope there's no more. How do you rebuild people's lives? Yingluck (our PM) announced a $4 billion recovery plan. I'm worried the the really poor, rural areas will be overlooked. Once the flood's over, we'll see how it plays out, but for now it's not pretty. The sandbags are holding up though!
--------------------
This year's flooding was the worst in 50 years. The confirmed death count is 342, and nearly 10 million people are affected.

You've probably seen the pictures and the stories on the news. This is only the start of it- after this, it's reconstruction and rebuilding villages, houses, businesses, and lives. Not to mention the toll on farmers, worsening the Debt Cycle already in place without relief and a change to the current business practices, but that's another story.

[link] These pictures of of only in Bangkok. I can't find photos from the impoverished rural areas north, but I heard that they were hit worst at first.
[link]

""The atmosphere here is strange. Everyone is getting on with things. I thought that people would be crying in the streets, but everybody seems to be coping with the situation really well.

"People who have lost everything are still volunteering, giving out food, filling sandbags and distributing medicines.

"But it has been really difficult. I don't think I've ever been in such a depressing situation."

If you love Thai food or Thai culture, please help the Thai people.
------------------
I'm selling chibi commissions. One chibi like this, five US dollars.

100% of any income will be donated to the Thai Red Cross, one of the orgs helping out with the flooding. I will not keep a cent to myself.

[link]
English site: [link]

I'm not sure if anyone's interested, but I'm hoping that if you were just borderline considering donating, maybe this might tip it in the favor of giving?

$5 will get you the knowledge that you're helping the Thai people affected by the flood... And a pretty cute drawing.

When the flood got bad, my parents flew back to Bangkok to help. I don't have that option, so here I am!
You heard me.

I won a backpack the size of a small suitcase and an inflatable chair in a dance off.

I was walking from Chinese Literature to Molecular Biology when all of a sudden I saw a crowd of people.

I'm not sure what happened next (it was kind of a blur. I remember being in front of a bunch of people and acting like I had a seizure...) but next thing I knew, I was walking away with a giant green backpack and an inflatable chair.

[link]
[link] It's more than half my size..
Done with Zhou Yu cosplay.

Nearly done with Kallen as well. Just need the gray plate things.

However....

For AX:

1) Xingke (Code Geass) for Steven
2) Cornelia Mutuality outfit for Anya
3) Kaguya for Monica

These I have not started on. I have three weeks from when classes end.

YES I STILL HAVE A LOT TO DO.
I am married porn star, previously a Presbyterian film director. I'd love someone who can share a career with me. If you can work with me in mine I can help you with yours. I am very good with 'talking' to superiors. I am 30-35 years old, seeks charismatic 55-79 year old Hungarian man for vacation partner. If you're fair, potent, and love bingo, you may be right for me. Must like top hats. Serious inquiries only. No frat boys. Baggage okay, because I have plenty of my own and not just the metaphorical kind. I can't wait to marry you!

I would describe myself as a good prankster, who loves to laugh and spend time with Bulgarian people. My family and friends would probably describe me as kind and loyal with a good sense of humor. I tend to be the kind of person people feel comfortable (comfortable if you know what I mean) talking to and confiding in (I will admit, I am a talker...but I'm a good listener too!). I'm easy going and get along with everyone (especially straight men and lesbians) and could probably be described as the "girl next door"; (for lack of a better cliche!). I try not to take life too seriously and also tend to be pretty sarcastic - and yes, I can take it as well as I can give it out! :) And boy do I give out.
Hello deviant art! ~PannytheAngel, ~AngelofDeathz, and another person have designed Chemorphesis!, a project to help people better understand chemistry! It's for people who both love chemistry and have no background knowledge of it. In other words, for YOU no matter who you are.

"Chemorphesis is a project devoted to anthropomorphizing chemical concepts to make them understandable to everybody. We work on putting atoms, molecules, and even generic concepts into human terms, focusing on their interactions as if it were a story. Chemorphesis comes from a portmanteau of several words. Chemistry, anthropomorphism—or the turning of concepts into people, and synthesis. So please check out our various works, and enjoy chemistry!"

Please check it out here!
The first story is about basic concepts of organic chemistry, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could take a look and give us feedback via our feedback page! :D Honest critiques and the like are strongly encouraged. We would also appreciate it if you can "like" us on facebook!

Chemorphesis!

...That was a plug. XD

You should totally check it out. It's just like doing your homework for an upper-division organic chemistry course, but actually fun! XD

Belated journal entry!

~PannytheAngel, ~AngelofDeathz, Patrick, Gilbert, and I are back from AX! I have a lot of work to do- I'm sorry it's taking so long.

I had a LOVELY LOVELY time this year! I edited and fixed up my costume (ie remade headband, etc., made the actual outfit skimpier etc), Annie got gold hooker boots and boot covers (ouch) and made Zhang He's spear weapon thing, and Angeline remade the whole Lu Xun costume and made the sword.

We entered in the masquerade. You can see our performance here: [link]

I'm really not all that happy with it. At least Lu Xun's solo went of without a hitch despite you know, the sword breaking, and Zhang He's costume stayed together during the performance? I didn't dance all that great. I'm sorry.

BUT AT LEAST OUR COSTUMES LOOK GREAT D:

...I'll post up the official cosplay photos when we finish photoshooting. Hopefully soon plz.

One highlight: We met other DW cosplayers OMFLDURLES.
Group 1: Ma Chao, Xiao Qiao, and Xiahou Dun (omg I LOVE XIAHOU DUN he's tied for my FAVORITE from Wei with his hot cousin Cao Cao). [link]
Group 2: Da Qiao, Xiao Qiao [link] These girls were so cute and pretty ie if I had to cast for a live action DW they'd be top of my list. I hate the Qiao sisters in game but LOVE their cosplayers. <3 [link] Me and Xiao Qiao, in the middle of an ATM line.

Group one probably thinks that I'm some kind of freaky stalker perv by now. I'm sorry. Every time I saw them I was like "OMG LOL PHOTOS PLZ" [link] Oh, look, the creepy stalker chick got in the picture...

I got a picture of me pretending to kiss Xiahou Dun though! [link] apparently I looked WAY too happy: [link]

DW GROUP PHOTO: [link]

And I got the two Xiao Qiaos together! [link]

I found this online: [link] Could it be possible?!

We also met up with omg my second favorite series, Sengoku Basara. ...They also probably think that I'm a freaky stalker perv too.

Group 1: Whole load!! [link] was fun giving them directions to the backstage entrance through a soundproof glass wall.  Oh look, the creepy stalker got in again... RUN NOBUNAGA RUN [link]
Person 2: Yukimura
Group 3: Masamune and...That... Other guy sorry I forgot who. ^^"
Group 4: Puff, Sasuke, Masamune [link]
Person 5: Oichi

[link] <--way too happy <3

Actually you know, when it's a creepy old guy that's doing the stalking, THAT'S being a freaky stalker perv. But when it's a pretty young woman in a skimpy costume, that's apparently a-okay...

I met up with UCSD buddies! Matthew and his brother Sonny: ROCK ON EARTHBENDERS. [link] Don't they just look SO epic there?!

And my buddy Steve (Stephen by my spelling apparently though T.T) dressed as Cid Highwind: [link]

Oh. Not UCSD. Uh.. but.. Kwan... Every year you wear something more disturbing from the last. Want to borrow my bikini for next year or something? -_- [link] XDD

I also met up with DA buddies! ~Jyotii and *Rocky-O, whose photos unless if I have their explicit permission, you know, cough, ie in a comment or something saying "hey you can post my photos" I won't be posting due to privacy stuff etc.etc. Had a blast!
I'm going to take this opportunity to talk a bit about Thailand. I hope the rest of the Thai artists don't get a bit iffy at me. I am a Thai citizen even if I was educated overseas- but come now, you go overseas for an education, what else? I want this violence to end as soon as possible. Everyone does. However, I'll say here and now that I am, although not a watermelon or an open Red, I am very sympathetic to the Red Shirts.

People who have lived in the capital and with affluence are generally sheltered from the reality of poverty in Thailand. The rural regions are quite different from even the slums of Bangkok. Like take healthcare- we have public hospitals here. But out far off, where are the public hospitals? This shouldn't be an excuse, though. I was born and raised in Bangkok, and I would never have truly thought about the rural people if I had not accidentally been exposed to their conditions. The fact is, the majority of us don't care beyond those little donation boxes near Central or little chitchat in coffee. Either that, or we just say "Oh, we can't do anything about it" and don't.

Often times, outsiders and the foreign press skews with Thailand and presses the image and happenings of Thailand to their own (more than occasionally inaccurate) misconceptions. But I have to admit, sometimes it takes an outsider's report to bring to the surface what we never thought about. And no, I don't watch CNN.

Don't get me wrong. I don't support Thaksin. Perhaps his policies to help the rural poor were only to gain him support and re-election. Perhaps some of his policies were well-intentioned but not as effective as they could have been. He was corrupt, yes, to a large scale, yes, but name one politician who is not. But either way, just looking at how willing they are to support him should show how desperate the Red Shirts are to have a leader who will benefit not only the rich elite in the capital but the majority of the population as well, and when I say majority, I MEAN the majority. And now as legislation is running to disenfranchise the rural poor, who can say that they are happy with their representation in the government?

If anything, I blame the government- not just Abhisit and the current regime but the corruption and service to the rich and elite that goes back God-knows-how-long. If they had not been pushed so, and if perhaps they had been cared for more, I doubt the Red Shirts would have been pushed to this violence. Perhaps if the army had not started with live rounds and had trod more delicately (I know perfectly well that the Thai news claims that the army used RUBBER bullets. But the foreign press, underground papers, eyewitnesses, and YouTube videos say otherwise), it would have stayed with them harassing government cars and cursing Abhisit, not burning barricades and Motolov cocktails.

This isn't only about the government- every bit of this concerns us and how we react to the rest of our own people. Sitting back and complaining about how simply frightened we are and how inconvenienced we are while the protesters are fighting for the basic necessities of living is a tad bit odd. Maybe we should not have turned a blind eye in the past.

And we can use the excuse for inaction and condemnation- they were a violent, stupid, angry mob that showed its true colors when it set Central up in flames and started rioting. They were bloodthirsty and violent, yes? I suppose we can then ignore the fact that the majority of the protesters were not those people, and that the rioters had declared separation from the main group. We can ignore the fact that most of them, men, women, children, elderly, were here to protest for cause they believed in. I can just sit back and condemn the whole group because a faction of it is a bad apple. We can just say that the whole group was berserk and brutal and leave it at that. Very convenient, admittedly.

So I would be indulging myself and the rest of the middle class if I said that we are not to blame.

But more to a practical side, someone once stated the point in less-than-polite terms: "Just call the elections, dammit." Abhisit claims that he will not bend to mob rule or terror or the use of force to rally for change. If so, I'm wondering, what was that coup a while back? The use of the military usually coincides with the threat of force, which is force by itself.

I see why the government does not want the UN in. If the UN mediated, the Red Shirts would be recognized and able to negotiate under the flag of internationality. However, the government should be concerned with the welfare and safety of its people and a peaceful resolution first and foremost. The political party maintaining its power (and they are a minority party to boot) should come second. Their actions will show where their real priorities are.

I do not argue for the toppling of the government. What I think is needed to prevent future events like this is to make sure that everyone is receiving their share of the government.

Please don't ask me how to do that, though. Politicians and scholars much wiser and more intelligent than me are still trying to figure out.
:iconangelofdeathz::iconpannytheangel::iconvelveteen-violinist:

Happy late New Year. I've gotten very busy but I managed to finish my hanfu before the massload really hit. I'm happy with how it turned out. I hope it will actually be part of a bigger costume, but I am not quite sure how to make some parts.

Unfortunately, because I was unable to scan in a commission, I have kept a customer waiting for far too long than I think acceptable and I feel guilty. I hope that something extra thrown in will make up for it.

Anyways, joined #ArtisanCraft.

Dear Secret Santa,

I would like either OC drawn please!

List: Gan Ning, Ling Tong

Gan Ning Ref: [link] [link] [link] [link] <--(big guy in the back)
Age: 33
-He is very muscular and built like a water buffalo
-He is a loud-mouthed, lovable scoundrel and because he was a roaming bandit previously he acts rather low-class and crude.
-He is a high General of Sun Quan's Eastern Wu.
-De Crespigny states: "Gan Ning was brave, erratic and dangerous, generous to his men, fond of extravagant display and conduct, and capable of killing at a whim. He was probably somewhat mad...He was certainly extremely brave, he is described as rough and fierce, but he was also open and friendly, good at planning, caring for his soldiers, thought little of personal property and always showed respect for scholars."
-...In the case you are dare draw him naked, he has 凌統 公績 tattooed on his scrotum. He also has little aversion to public indecency.

Ling Tong Ref: [link] [link] [link] <--(Skinny guy in the front) [link] <--Front [link] <-Ponytail guy
Age: 19
-He is lean but decently muscled. His skin is very pale.
-He is courteous and polite to everyone (except to Gan Ning)

-He is a high General of Sun Quan's Eastern Wu.
-(Actual history) He inherited his late father's command (Gan Ning killed his father) at the age of 14 and began actively participating as a military commander than. At the age of 19, he held off Cao Ren for days.

If you don't want to draw their clothes, just draw them naked.

If you CAN'T MANAGE at last resort maybe I can rummage up some other OCs.

Anime Expo 2009!

Journal Entry: Sun Jul 5, 2009, 10:30 PM
Phew! I had a blast!

~PannytheAngel, ~AngelofDeathz, and Patrick all went to Anime Expo! I cosplayed Diao Chan (Dynasty Warriors 6), Angeline did Lu Xun, and Annie did Zhang He. Patrick was going to be Cao Pi but didn't have time.

We met up with :icondemograph: dressed as Ciel in an adorable red velvet outfit, who got mobbed by photographers every fifteen seconds, and Sophia (so cute pink dress!!). We also met up with :iconjyotii: and went out for ice cream (so good!!) and in the Artists' Alley, :iconrocky-o:, who so should have been allowed to keep her rollerblades...

We got photographed a lot this year. A LOT. Not a lot of people knew who we were (only like four said it? Someone even though Lu Xun was from the Fire Nation!) but we got asked to pose a lot. I guess it's because we were just so shiny. I was so excited! It was like, take two steps, get a group of photographers, finish, take another two steps, more photographers, etc. I had a LOT of fun! Once, Pann did a special one-foot-stand-karate-pose-thing for a boy who recognized her as Lu Xun.... Was fine for one photo, but when like ten more people run in to take pictures too... She switched poses, and like ten more photographers came. Pann says her butt still hurts from holding the hard poses, and I think I might just have did something to my back from leaning over on my hip so much. Lucky Annie. She just had to flutter, but then again she was having a bit of trouble with her costume falling off...

We saw a lot of good cosplayers, like that dude with like eight arms and everything!

I didn't really buy much. Just a goody bag and a keychain for my sister.

We went to the Masquerade Ball. We were signed up for Masquerade but had to cancel last-minute due to stuff, I was sad, but WATCH OUT NEXT YEAR *scream*!

Anyways, I had a blast!

Summer's here and I hope I'll be able to draw a lot more and finish stuff. I really need to draw new references for a LOT of characters, especially Raymond, who got a bit of a do-over. And more Gan Ning/Ling Tong!! Let's hope I get off my butt and work.

Finished Diao Chan costume! I'll take better pictures later. [link]
---------------------------
I'm really not that into anime or like the comics or anything, but either way, ~PannytheAngel , ~AngelofDeathz and I are going to Anime Expo.

We'll be cosplaying as Dynasty Warriors characters. I have the lineup as me going as Diao Chan, Annie going as Zhang He (oh BEAU-ty!) and Pann going as Lu Xun because she actually looks like him. o.o" We got started early- just last Sunday, in fact, so I hope we can pull off the elaborate-ness. WIP: [link]

Last year I was Vincent Valentine, Pann was Yuffie (you might have seen us, actually XD), and Annie was Menos Grande. ...Maybe I'll get around to uploading pictures sometime, because we did a photoshoot out in the courtyard of the hotel we were staying at.

I'm waiting for the gold stuff on the skirt to set as I'm typing here. Wheee!

HEY! So if you're going, look out for Diao Chan (DW6 version), and if you see me, yell hi!

I think my favorite interpretation of Diao Chan was the one I saw on a Thai show once, where she was shown as a woman similar to Dowager Cixi. She was a woman who hated being regulated to the helpless, powerless, feminine ideal and found that she could get power and influence through her beauty. Although the show portrayed her as an evil temptress, I liked how she was unwilling to submit to society's definition of woman and sought out p-o-w-e-r for herself.

And I drew Lu Bu in chalk on my driveway.

Well, new account. New name, eh?

About time I got around to it.

:iconangelofdeathz::iconpannytheangel::iconvelveteen-violinist:

I've been busy lately! It always seems like there's a lot to do.

Wow, Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a great read, although there is a bit of historical inaccuracy, not to mention a major bias for Liu Bei and Co. at the expense of everyone else. One thing I majorly noticed was Zhou Yu was portrayed as a bitter jerk and Lu Su was an incompetent, whereas in reality, Zhou Yu was such an amazingly beautiful and friendly man that everyone liked him, and Lu Su was a bloody genius. (Cheng Pu said: "To be with Zhou Gongjin is to drink cold wine unmixed with water: you become drunk before you realise it.")

Many of the deaths were changed, but the result remained the same. Although I have to admit, having Lu Meng die via getting possessed by Guan Yu's spirit was a bit over-the-top, even for the Ming Dynasty.

There's a song by a Singaporean singer about the Three Kingdoms, called Cao Cao. It's a really catchy song.

Violin recital this Sunday- I'm excited because my sisters are coming, and they normally never come.

Random thing about Pearl Corvear: About half of her teeth aren't real.
